The Art Pottery of Bob Baumgartner

He grew up in Illinois and moved to Colorado. He went to several Universities taking art, mathematics and science classes. He took art classes in Drawing, Painting, Sculpture and Pottery.  His pottery teachers include Elisa Gaul, Betty Woodman, Bob LeDon and Larry Clark. He went to many workshops with well known potters. He owned and operated a pottery/craft retail business, Talisman Arts and Crafts, in Boulder for many years.

He is currently teaching pottery at the Montclair Recreation Center in Denver. He has taught pottery at the UMC at the CU, Harvard Gulch Center, Brighton Recreation Center, Wheat Ridge Center and the Boulder Potters Guild.

Many of his pots are one of a kind works of art. He likes to experiment with new shapes, designs and glazes. His decorating techniques include etching the pots, painting with underglazes and pinching the pots.

He loves making pots and teaching pottery. His pottery is on display and for sale at the Kirkland Museum 13th and Pearl in Denver. His other interests include hiking, photography and travel.
