Maya Ward-Karet loves to make things. Be it houses, gardens, bookmarks, lamps, or most recently, clay creations, she simply can't stop. The transformation of raw material into a finished product that can be enjoyed for years to come is ceaselessly satisfying. Joining the Boulder Potters Guild in 2025 opened up new and exciting possibilities for creativity.
Maya produces both functional and sculptural ceramic creations through her creative outlet, Mountain Whimsy Kreations. Inspiration comes from lived experience, the natural world and fantasy realms escaped to through literature and film. The fabulously malleable medium of clay offers unlimited exploration of form, texture, color and contrast. Pieces are always one of a kind, with sets having shared themes rather than being exact copies.
