Frequently Asked Questions

About

Have you ever had a question and didn’t know where to find the answer? If so, you’ve come to the right place.

This section is a compilation of answers to some of the most commonly asked questions. Just start by following one of the links below. If you can't find an answer you're looking for, just ask us.

  1. What does your organization do?

We bring the ceramic arts to life in our community. The Guild owns and manages a complete pottery making facility in Boulder Colorado for use by its members. The Guild also offers classes to the public where we share our passion and skill with those wanting to learn ceramics.
We partner with local agencies for fundraisers, opportunities to show work, share experiences in clay with underserved populations, and host exhibitions open to the public.

  2. If I were to donate funds, how is my money used?

The Guild is primarily funded by an affordable monthly membership fee. Donated funds are used to support our facilities, our class and workshop offerings, and scholarships. As a 501c3 arts non-profit, with additonal funds we can offer additional programing to a variety of populations in our community.

  3. Can I fire my pottery or rent a kiln at the Guild?

Our facilities and equipment are for the use by our members. Our governing documents and insurance preclude us from opening our facilities to the public.

  4. Yes! We accept online applications. Our membership chair will respond to you. Often there is a wait list for membership. A jury committee will consider your application.

  5. Can I purchase clay or materials?

Unfortunately we are not set up as a retail venue. We do not sell clay or materials to the public. On the Front Range of Colorado, try Stoneleaf Pottery, Continental Clay or Rocky Mt. Clay for your clay, materials, and tools.

  6. Can I rent studio space at the Guild?

The Guild does rent studio space to the public.
Only due paying members of Guild can rent studio spaces if spaces are available. Demand for spaces is very high.

  7. Any member listed under the ARTISTS tab can be contacted for specific inquiries or commission work.
Our members consist of artists working in a wide variety of techniques, clays, glazes, and aesthetics. By visiting our Artist Pages and Gallery you can find an artist that meets your needs.

  8. When are Guild Show & Sales Events?

The Guild hosts two annual show and sales events.
The Spring Event is held over 4 days at the Boulder County Fairgrounds Exhibition Hall the first weekend in May.
The Holiday Event is held in early November in the Barn next to the Exhibition Hall.
