Join us for a special ceramic workshop with Korean master artist Lee Dong Sik, whose work is currently on view at the Denver Art Museum as part of the Moon Phase exhibition.  Renowned for his expertise in creating Moon Jars (달항아리),  one of the most iconic and emotionally resonant forms of Joseon dynasty white porcelain, Lee Dong Sik will share his artistic journey and demonstrate the full process of crafting a Moon Jar.  Moon Jars are traditional Korean white porcelain vessels from the Joseon dynasty (1392 to 1910), named for their soft, round shape that resembles a full moon. Celebrated for their subtle asymmetry and natural elegance, Moon Jars reflect the essence of Korean aesthetics through humility, harmony, and the beauty found in imperfection.
His work is currently on an exhibit at the Denver Art Museum, where he will also present a live demonstration on May 17th.
