Renee has a background in fine art, always gravitating towards the tangible and what can be created with her hands. She finds inspiration in the dramatic natural contrasts the Earth offers. Dark clay bodies. Light, ethereal textiles originating from hemp, cotton and linen. With clay, Renee’s current focus is on hand built, organic shapes often times utilizing objects in nature to form the body of work. Her sewn pieces are created using sustainably sourced fabrics from around the world that offer the wearer the freedom of self expression and aliveness.
