Workshops

The Boulder Potters’ Guild hosts weekend workshops several times a year by noted ceramic artists.  Recent workshops have been led by well-respected Colorado artists, such as Blair Meerfeld, internationally acclaimed potter Ruthanne Tudball, crystalline glaze master Xavier Gonzalez, and ceramic sculptor Deborah Fritz.  Artists working in a variety of firing methods, using a variety of techniques, share their expertise.  Sam Chung of Michigan brought his fresh interpretation of the visual and tactile nature of the pottery of Korea and the Song Dynasty of China; Mark Shapiro shared his love of early American pottery and how it influences his imposing salt-fired forms; Deborah Swartzkopf brought her pattern making skills to thrown and altered pots.

Workshops generally begin with a Friday evening reception and slideshow open to  participants, members, and the general public.  The Saturday and Sunday sessions may include hands on work by participants or they may be more oriented to demonstration and discussion.  Prices will vary depending on the workshop.
